Brief Description
KFI provides people with broad opportunities to go about their community, to use its resources, develop friendships and relationships, and valued roles. The service also provides training and opportunity in areas of personal growth such as home management skills, fitness and health, interpersonal relationships, pathway to employment (including volunteerism, job shadowing, discovery), and leisure pursuits.
KFI provides assistance to individuals to identify, obtain, and/or maintain individualized competitive and customized employment. Services may include "discovery" or "pathway to employment" activities, preparation of the person for employment, job development and placement, short-term or long-term job coaching, consultation to employers, and follow-up.
KFI provides flexible supports to individuals to meet their unique needs while living in their own homes and apartments. KFI's supported living services are designed for people who require minimal assistance or those who require up to 24 hours of support each day. Areas of support provided may include: shopping and cooking, budgeting, leisure time activity and friendship development, volunteerism and community participation, personal hygiene, etc.
